Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected through this website, how it’s used, and the choices you have around it. It applies to visitors, prospective clients, and clients of Maria Fung (“I,” “me,” “my”).
1. What information is collected
When you make an enquiry, request a proposal, or engage me for a project, you may be asked for your name, email address, phone number, company entity name, and any project details you choose to share. If an engagement involves an invoice or payment, relevant billing details (such as a mailing address) may also be collected. This site does not process credit card payments directly; payments are handled through third-party providers such as bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, as outlined in the FAQs.
2. How information is collected
Information is collected when you submit an enquiry or contact form, subscribe to any mailing list, respond to correspondence, or otherwise provide it directly to me through the site.
3. How your information is used
Information you provide may be used to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss a potential project
- Prepare proposals, invoices, and project-related correspondence
- Follow up on prior correspondence (email or contact form)
- Send occasional updates about my work, if you’ve opted in to hear from me
Your information is never used to make decisions about you beyond the scope of our correspondence and any engagement you enter into.
4. Email communications
If you’ve provided your email address, it may be used to respond to your enquiry, send project-related updates, or—only if you’ve opted in—send occasional updates about new work or availability. You can unsubscribe from any non-essential email at any time using the link provided in that email, or by contacting me directly.
5. Security of your information
Reasonable precautions are taken to protect the personal information you share, in line with generally accepted industry practices. Any billing details are handled through the payment provider’s own secure systems (such as PayPal or your bank) rather than stored on this site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but reasonable steps are taken to protect what’s shared with me.
6. Cookies
This website may use cookies for basic functionality and analytics purposes (for example, understanding which pages visitors find useful). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; instructions vary by browser, so check your browser’s help documentation. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site function, but it won’t prevent you from browsing or contacting me.
7. Analytics and advertising cookies
This site may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, which use first- and third-party cookies to understand how visitors use the site. These tools may collect general, non-identifying information about your visit (such as pages viewed or general location).
To opt out:
- Adjust your preferences via Google Ad Settings
- Opt out via the Network Advertising Initiative
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
8. Third-party disclosure
Your personal information is not sold or traded to outside parties. It may be shared with trusted parties who help operate this website or support the business (such as hosting or email providers), provided they agree to keep that information confidential. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, or to protect my rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
9. Third-party links and services
This site may link to third-party websites or use third-party services (such as payment processors). These third parties have their own privacy policies, and I’d encourage you to review them, as I have no control over how they handle your information. If a third-party provider is located in a different jurisdiction than you, your information may become subject to that jurisdiction’s laws once it’s in their hands. Once you leave this site or are redirected elsewhere, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.
10. Age of consent
By using this site, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your country or region of residence, or that you have appropriate consent to use the site on behalf of a minor dependent.
11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the business or applicable law. Updates take effect once posted to this page, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted here.
12. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests relating to your personal data, can be sent via the contact form.
